The best time to book Jacksonville fall family photos is as soon as you know you want a session. September through early November dates tend to be the most requested, especially weekend sunsets.

Booking early gives you more choices. You are more likely to get the date, location, and type of light you love without trying to squeeze your session between an already-full calendar and the holiday rush.

You do not need to have your outfits selected or every detail figured out before reaching out. That is what the planning process is for. We can talk through the vision first, then choose the session that makes the most sense for your family.

When Should We Take Photos for Holiday Cards?

If holiday cards are the goal, I recommend scheduling your session by no later than October or early November whenever possible. This creates breathing room for:

• Professional editing

• Gallery delivery

• Choosing your favorite images

• Designing and ordering cards

Your KimHearts portrait gallery is normally delivered within 7–14 business days. A 72-hour rush may be available for an additional fee, but planning ahead is always the least stressful option.

Even if you do not send cards, fall portraits make meaningful gifts for grandparents and family members. Prints, framed photographs, and albums feel personal in a way that another last-minute gift simply cannot.

What Time of Day Is Best for Fall Family Photos?

For outdoor sessions, the softest and most flattering light usually happens near sunrise or sunset. Sunset is popular, but sunrise can be gorgeous—especially at the beach, where the morning often feels quieter and less crowded.

The right time also depends on your children. A beautiful sunset is not worth forcing a toddler through a session during their usual bedtime. If your children are happiest in the morning, we can build the plan around them. Happy, comfortable people create better photographs than a “perfect” time on the clock.

What Does Fall Look Like in Jacksonville?

Florida fall has its own personality. Instead of relying on changing leaves, we can create a seasonal feeling through warm sunlight, textured greenery, neutral sand, historic architecture, and deeper wardrobe colors.

Which KimHearts Family Session Is Right for You?

The Classic Session is $250 and includes approximately 30 minutes, one outfit, one location, and 10 edited images. It is a great fit when you want a focused update with a smaller group of final photographs.

The Storyteller Session is $475 and includes 60 minutes, two outfits, one location, lighting when needed, and all edited images—typically 80 or more. The extra time allows children to settle in and gives us space for more movement, candid moments, individual portraits, and different family combinations.

Studio sessions are also available for a $25 studio add-on.
