The Best Jacksonville Locations for Holiday-Card Photos
The Best Jacksonville Locations for Holiday-Card Photos
Holiday photographs do not have to include fake snow, matching pajamas, or a bright red Christmas set—unless that is genuinely your family’s style.
Your Jacksonville holiday photos can feel coastal, warm, romantic, playful, elegant, or dark and cinematic. The right location is the one that fits your family and creates the feeling you want people to experience when they open your card.
Jacksonville and the surrounding Northeast Florida area give us a wide range of beautiful options. Here are a few of my favorites and what each setting can bring to your photographs.

1. Jacksonville-Area Beaches
Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, and Atlantic Beach offer open skies, soft sand, water, and plenty of room for movement. Beach sessions are ideal for families who want photographs that feel natural and connected rather than stiff or overly posed.
Children can walk, run, splash, and play while I guide everyone into moments that feel genuine. The result can still be polished enough for a holiday card while feeling like your real family.
Sunrise sessions are especially beautiful for softer morning light and a potentially quieter shoreline. Sunset creates a warmer, moodier look, although the exact direction and quality of light will vary by location and weather.
Beach sessions work well with flowing fabrics, muted colors, warm neutrals, deep greens, rust, dusty blue, and cream.
Best for: Playful families, coastal holiday cards, couples, young children, and anyone who loves movement.
2. Historic St. Augustine
Historic St. Augustine creates a completely different feeling. Textured walls, old architecture, greenery, narrow streets, and romantic corners give photographs an old-world quality that feels timeless.
This location is a wonderful fit if you want more variety than a single natural background. Within a relatively small area, we can create images that feel elegant, warm, editorial, and full of story.
Deep jewel tones, black, cream, camel, burgundy, and rich green look especially beautiful here.
Because St. Augustine can become busy during the holiday season, timing matters. Early sessions may offer a calmer experience, while evening sessions can incorporate the energy and seasonal atmosphere of the city. We will choose the plan based on the look you want and your family’s comfort level.
Best for: Romantic or timeless photographs, dressier outfits, couples, older children, and families drawn to historic architecture.
3. Ponte Vedra
Ponte Vedra offers coastal beauty with a refined, quiet feeling. Depending on the selected area, the setting may include dunes, palms, natural grasses, water, or clean architectural elements.
It works beautifully for families who want holiday photographs that feel polished but not overly themed. Your images can stay displayed in your home throughout the year instead of looking like they belong only to December.
Soft neutrals, blue, deep green, camel, and muted earth tones fit this setting naturally.
Best for: Clean coastal portraits, elegant holiday cards, neutral wardrobes, and families who want an understated seasonal look.

4. Green Cove Springs , Lake Asbury , Hanna Park
Natural settings around Green Cove Springs and Lake Asbury can create warmth through trees, open space, earthy texture, and golden evening light. These locations are a lovely alternative for families who want a fall feeling without heading to the beach or into a busy city.
The space allows for walking, playing, cuddling, and a mixture of traditional portraits and candid interaction. Rust, cream, olive, burgundy, and warm brown look especially beautiful against natural Florida greenery.
Best for: Earthy fall photographs, larger families, active children, and anyone who wants a relaxed outdoor setting.
5. The Private KimHearts Studio
If you want photographs that feel rich, intimate, and different from the traditional outdoor holiday session, the private KimHearts studio may be the perfect choice.
The emerald wall, green velvet sofa, mirrors, warm bulbs, and tropical plants create a dark botanical atmosphere. Instead of relying on obvious holiday props, we can use jewel tones, texture, lighting, and connection to create a seasonal look that still feels like art.
The studio also gives us protection from Florida rain, wind, humidity, and unpredictable temperatures. It is private and operated by Kim alone, which can help families feel more comfortable and relaxed.
Best for: Dark and moody photographs, elegant styling, weather-proof planning, smaller groups, and families who want something distinctive.
How Do You Choose the Right Location?
Ask yourself three simple questions:
Do we want our photographs to feel playful, romantic, earthy, coastal, or polished?
Where will our children feel most comfortable?
What colors and style do we want to display in our home?
Your answers will usually point us toward the right setting. A toddler who needs room to move may thrive at the beach or in an open natural area. A family who loves dramatic color and elegant clothing may feel completely at home in the studio or historic St. Augustine.
Location is important, but it is not what makes a photograph meaningful. The way your child reaches for your hand, the expression your partner makes when everyone finally relaxes, and the laughter between poses are the pieces you will remember.
Book Early Enough to Enjoy the Experience
If your photographs are intended for holiday cards or gifts, try to schedule your session by late October or early November. KimHearts galleries are normally delivered within 7–14 business days, giving you time to choose images and order printed products without unnecessary last-minute pressure.
You do not need to select a location before reaching out. Every session begins with a short consultation, and I will help you match the setting to your family, wardrobe, timing, and vision.
